28 May VISIT | The Brazilian National Council of state funding agencies visits the Tecnopolo: Cooperations and Development Opportunities

On May 21st 2024, the Tecnopolo Bologna CNR, along with the CNR and the two research labs ProAmbiente and MISTER, has hosted the National Council of State Research Support Foundations of Brazil (CONFAP). This visit was organized on the recommendation of the Brazilian Embassy in Rome, after a previous visit of the FAPESP Agency of the Sao Paolo State last year.

CONFAP, integral parte of the Science, Technology and Innovation National System of Brazil, represents the research support foundations in all the 27 Brazilian federal states. Its expanded presence on the territory allows to promote a wide range of activities and international collaborations.

The main goal of the visit was to explore new possibilities of agreements, technological transfers and academic exchanges to reinforce even more the already existing cooperation between Italy and Brazil. In the past, CONFAP started projects with Italy in different common interest areas, including artificial intelligence, human health, renewable energies, precision agriculture and spacial sciences.

On May 21, the delegation arrived in Bologna, where a meeting took place at the headquarters of the National Research Council; this appointment, followed by a meeting at the University of Bologna, was seen as a perfect opportunity to discuss potential collaborations and align strategic goals with those of the delegation’s mission.

This visit is a significant step toward closer cooperation between Italy and Brazil in the field of research and innovation.
